"A complete treatise on the proper modern methods to apply practically in joining mouldings. A book for working carpenters, joiners, cabinet-makers, picture frame makers and wood-workers. Clearly and simply explained by over 40 engravings, with full directive text."

Owen Maginnis was a late 19th Century architect, practical carpenter & joiner and author of a series of short books on some of the more esoteric yet essential elements of the craft. He covered such topics as making molds for brick and stone arches, roof framing, bricklaying and construction estimating.

In Art Of Mitring, Maginnis wrote the only 19th Century book that I know of to explain in every day terminology the process of measuring and cutting both simple and complex joints in mouldings. He addresses the niceties of creating joints in common, crown, base, circular and other complex moldings.

Written for the practicing carpenter or builder, the Art Of Mitring shows how to apply both basic and advanced geometry to the measuring, coping and mitring of moldings.
